Drive by book rec! Stupid -> And Contagious, by Caprice Crane. Not perfect, but an enjoyable, put-me-in-a-good-mood fun read. She goes a bit overboard in a couple places, but in others she gets that "what the hell did I just say, oh well I'll just go with it" craziness that I love. And I am morally (and taste-wise) opposed to Starbuck's, but I just shoved that aside for the ride. Good times. I may have snuck in some reading while at work. Bad me. Good book.

I have my license! At 22, but whatever bitches, I rule!

I have mastered the basic crochet stitches! Yet again with the ruling!

B and I have been crazy this weekend, playing tennis and goccer*. It feels so good to be active!

*Golf and soccer combined. You set a course around the park, whoever takes fewest kicks to make it into the goal wins. Very fun, if you only have two people (and two soccer balls.) B claims that after 10 or so years of soccer I have an unfair advantage in one on one, but just kicking we even out a bit, since he has more power and I kick his butt on accuracy.

To sum up: Good weekend!

When John and Radek finally figure out how to dismantle the time dilation and force fields to rescue Rodney and Teyla, they didn't know how to react.

I looked up my birthday on Wikipedia, because all the cool kids are doing it, but it failed to hold my attention long enough to do the meme. I know you're really sad about that.
But then, I looked up B's birthday which, it turns out, is shared by Lawrence Welk!
My dad watched the Lawrence Welk show every week while I was growing up, and it made several of my siblings hide in their bedrooms or leave the house, but I loved it with a love that is pure and true. I mean, it is cheesy and bad, I can't deny it, but it so cheerfully cheesy and bad! The women wear the same outfit in different colors, the men wear orange suit and wide ties, there is no shame on Lawrence Welk!
Mostly I liked it for the dancing, the tap and ballroom. The singing, meh. The outfits, gloriously bad. Even my mom would get in on trashing them with me, while my dad just grinned and sometimes sang along.
And they're still showing it! I only watched about 15 minutes tonight, because it made B want to die, but I am glad it's still on.

Ok, world, I know yesterday I was all, "Whee, spring! They have the fountains running! Yay, water!" But that did not mean "Yay, water!" in the way that means "Please rain constantly as I walk dismally to and from the bus and possibly rain out my drivers test tomorrow, which hello, I am already taking 6 years too late, WHY POSTPONE ANYMORE?!?!" There is no way that means that. Please stop.

I hate rain. May flowers can bite my ass.

Finally got in contact with my HS friend who's living here, and after some phone tag we hooked up and decided to go out for trivia at Mellow Mushroom. It's so funny how nervous I was. It was worse than a date, because I would be way more sad if she didn't like me, because we used to be so close. When we were wee innocent young gels, we went to the bookstore and researched blowjobs because we didn't know how to do them. Aw, so cute. And such dorks.Went to trivia, had a great time, her friends are nice. It was awesome to get out, had a good time.

Books I've Read:
Went on a bit of a YA run, and a Charles de Lint run. I love Charles de Lint a lot, and I picked up 2 books of his I hadn't read yet - Yarrow, which was ok but not as excellent as some of his others, and The Blue Girl, which is YA and really good.
I also picked up A School For Sorcery by E Rose Sabin. Good, but it seemed a little...rushed? Something. Not as good as I was expecting/hoping.

Red Carpet show starts in 3 minutes! Whee! I love to watch the parade o' dresses. Have had a lovely weekend so far. We may have had chicken nuggets and pizza rolls for dinner two nights in a row. Just maybe.

Oh bite me. Clearly we aren't actual grown-ups yet, but we still have several years before kids are planned, and I think we're fine until then. I do love chicken nuggets.

And I am approximately 8, and when I get someone a present I know they'll really love, I have no patience for, you know, actual dates. So Brian got his mp3 player yesterday, instead of next Saturday, which is his actual birthday. But...it was just sitting there! In my closet! It wanted to be used, I could tell. Anyway, Oscar's ahoy!

So, I haven't been updating here recently. I found a bunch of my friends on myspace, and I think I'll leave most the real life rambling on there from now on. And then this can be my fandom/internet haven!

And I love fandom, SO MUCH this week. There was Rodney as a susperspy and healer of puppies, (trinityofone,) AND there was House/Xena crossover fic (!!researchgrrrl). What more could a girl ask? :)
